Episode 35; What is the “best” post-pandemic path to success?

Episode 35 kicks off with Kim’s choice for drink of the day, a Smirnoff ICE Pinapple Lemonade. This is the summer limited edition Smirnoff and it’s pretty tasty! Thomas has been spending the quality time with granddaughter, Amara. That much needed “pop-pop and Amara” time is bringing him joy!
The Branch recommendation is coming from Kim this episode and she’s recommending that we think of a person who you care for but haven’t spoken to in a while and reach out to them and let them know they are in your thoughts. This week’s Main Topic is a discussion on what is the “Best” post-pandemic path to success? Kim and Thomas discuss if college is even worth the investment? [9:00] The two also talk about what careers are thriving or if entrepreneurship is the way to go. [25:32] The two move on to give examples of how the world has changed since they went to  college and how the new come-up for the next generation of income generating ventures may or may not be sustainable? Episode 34; Summer Fun In Nashville

The Branches kick off this episode of Brunch with the Branches with the traditional drink of the day. Thomas is drinking Uncle Nearest Single Barrel neat. Kim’s Joy comes from a recent date weekend. The Branch recommendation this week is Inside Out 2, and although Thomas was skeptical he is now a fan. The main topic for this week is Summer Fun and we start off with a few spots for date night [7:22], birthday celebrations [14:38], and rooftop vibes [19:50]. We then talk about so other places to try, and most of them are black-owned. [34:40] We close out today’s episode discussing this new restaurant in St. Louis that has an age restriction of 35 and up. Episode 33; Shauna Please Take 2

The Branches kick off season 5 of Brunch with the Branches with the drink of the day. The margarita mimosa had champagne, strawberry margarita, pineapple and peach juice, and it was a hit! Kim’s Joy comes from her recent birthday celebration. She shares her gratitude for another year alive, a new addition to the branch family tree, and Beyonce’s new album release. The Branch recommendation this week is BMF on Starz. [6:18] We start off the main topic with re-introductions of our guests. [9:28]. We get caught up with our DMV friends, after over a year since they were last on the pod. [10:45] We revisit the discussion from last pod, and the dating pool. [12:54] It apparently hasn’t gotten any better in these streets. The guests discuss other ways to find a date, and LinkedIn is brought up as a potential option. Episode 32; Hello 2024: the Season 4 Finale!

Happy New Year! On this weeks episode we kick things off with drink of the day and Kim is starting the year off being healthy and drinking OWYN (Only What You Need) Protein drink in the chocolate flavor while Thomas sticks to his Uncle Nearest. Thomas shares to brings him joy that the new year brings new opportunities to be better. Kim recommends the Percy Jackson and the Olympians on Disney Plus. The main topic include a look back over a year of Brunch With The Branches Podcast [4:18], a look at what we accomplished on our 2023 vision boards [8:50], and 2023 highlights [14:20]. We also look back on the memorable hot topics from the year [22:22] and notable deaths from Kim’s grandmother (Grandma Red) to Tina Turner [38:26]. Episode 31; Tik Tok Dump

On this week’s episode we kick things off with the drink of the day. Today we’re drinking a vodka and Red Bull (watermelon flavor). Kim shared how having family in town for the holidays is bringing her joy. The recommendation for the day comes from Thomas, who recommends the 16 personalities (https://www.16personalities.com/free-personality-test) free online  personality test. The couple jumps right into the episode with the first TikTok of the day on KeKe Palmer  [10:01]. Next up on the docket is Keith Lee [16:28] and the infamous Cheesecake Factory date [24:20]. After some good discussion on those topics, we shift to Diddy and Cassie and the drama surrounding their situationship  [32:26]. Episode 30; Generational Differences

On this week’s episode we kick things off with the drink of the day. Today we’re drinking an Grown Folks Mimosa. Kim shared that this episode’s guests are what’s bringing her joy. The recommendation for the day comes from Thomas, who is enjoying the new season of  Raising Kanan - Power series. The new season has started and it’s getting real interesting.   The couple jumps right into the main topic discussing the generational gap. We live in a moment of strong, persistent, overlapping generational personalities.  It’s too crazy not to discuss or acknowledge the differences and similarities of the Baby Boomer, Gen X, Millennial, and Gen Z folks making up the world right now. So after introductions of their guests and a quick round of 20 questions, Kim asked each generation represented how would they describe their generation. [21:30] The crew decided to include some funny videos from TikTok describing the generation personalities. [31:51] The guests talked about the challenges they have with dealing with the other generations.  Thomas, Kim, and the guests close things out with a few pop culture questions, then end with social plugs. On this week’s episode we kick things off with the drink of the day. Today we’re drinking Prosecco and Pinapple mango Juice.  Thomas shares how his beloved FSU Seminole football team, who got snubbed by the college football playoff committee, brings him joy. The recommendation for today is a cookbook called A Celebration of African American Cooking: Sweet Home Cafe Cookbook.  They dive into the Husband Takeover pod with the Introduction of today’s guests [5:09] Cam Hill and  Vince Alexander.
